Lyn Mellady:- Oil and Pastel artist

Initially Lyn Mellady was trained teacher, with a distinction for Art at Teachers College, but her art took over and she has exhibited her oils and pastels in Australian art galleries for 4 decades. Her subjects range from her temperate forest and rivers, portraits with Fusionsix and lately she has returned to the favoured haunts and beach holidays of her youth. She has gained a strong reputation and following for her work with waves and shoreline. Lyn has artworks in five city government collections in Australia and Japan, plus one hung in Parliament House in Canberra, innocently titled "in Safe Hands" She has been mainly a gallery artist but has also has earned many Best Oil, Best Pastel and Best in Show art awards.

Her artworks in pastel or oil, show visible sensitivity well beyond the image and her work is sought by many who recognise this feeling.

Lyn runs workshops and judges art shows in Melbourne and across Australia and is a juror for an international art website:- www.landscapeartistinternational.com

She takes art tours sponsored by International Artist Magazine and Travelrite.

After many requests,  Lyn is producing a range of DVDs which will show her demonstrate a painting while sharing her thoughts, reasons and methods.

From 2011 to 2016 Lyn, with her husband Brian, ran the Brialyn Boathouse Gallery in Frankston. In Dec 2016 although she loved it a decision was prompted. With limited time her personal artwork was diminishing. Her decision was easy. Original Oz took over the gallery and Lyn has new found time for her personal art.
